Environmental concerns are taken into consideration in the design, manufacture, installation and implementation of WEIDA’s waste management products. WEIDA provides clients with viable solutions for the treatment of raw sewage and sludge, using specialised PE products and the latest waste treatment technologies to ensure their effective treatment and disposal.

Septic Sludge Treatment Plant

Sar-Alam Indah Sdn. Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of WEIDA group has secured a concession in 2002 to operate and manage the Matang Septic Sludge Treatment Plant in Kuching, Sarawak. An area covering 33 hectares, has been acquired at Sungai Tengah, Matang for the construction of the Septic Sludge Treatment Plant as well as to cater for future waste management facilities.

The target is to achieve Class IIB of the Interim Water Quality Standard (IWQS) to make the river suitable for recreational and to protect sensitive aquatic species. With the enforcement of the Local Authorities (Compulsory De-sludging of Septic Tanks) By-Laws 1998, all septic tanks must be de-sludged within 2 years. The treatment plant has the capacity to treat 87,500m3 of sewage sludge per year.
