Industrial training refers to work attachment and experience that will contribute to a tertiary student’s professional development prior to graduation. Students should give sufficient thought into obtaining the most relevant and effective Industrial Training to fulfill the needs of their qualification. The aim of providing Industrial Training is to nurture the student’s interpersonal skills as well as to expose them to the general workplace environment.
WEIDA provides an Industrial Training Programme for students who need to obtain practical training before they graduate. Our diversified businesses ranging from manufacturing to construction, plantation to utility services, and green technology to renewable energy, enables us to cater to the needs of students of various disciplines. An attachment will normally last between 3 to 4 months, and students will be assigned a mentor who will be their guide and assessor during the training.
Students are required to provide a written report of their experience with us at the conclusion of their training. The report will highlight the development of the students’ practical and professional skills as well as demonstrate their understanding on our Organisation’s best practices and standards.
