Bhd. and Singapore\u2019s HSL Constructor Pte Ltd"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Weida Resources (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd. (WEIDA)<\/strong> signed two MOUs with <strong>HSL Constructor Pte Ltd (HSL)<\/strong> to promote and develop hydrokinetic turbine applications as a source of renewable energy in Sarawak, as well as to promote and develop rural water treatment in Sarawak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HSL Constructor Pte Ltd (HSL)<\/strong> is a leading EPCC firm in Singapore, focusing on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and ports. Their operations encompass four key sectors: Water, Energy, Food, and Environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The projects will be supported by the Malaysia-Singapore Third Country Business Development Fund <strong>(MSBDF)<\/strong>, this project aims to showcase how Malaysian and Singaporean companies can collaborate and co-develop energy solutions to address energy needs not only in Sarawak but also in other regional countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1<sup>st<\/sup> MOU<\/span><br><strong>HSL<\/strong> is the Asian partner of Hydrokinetic Power Generation Systems Inc., the manufacturer of the <strong>HPG Evolution Hydrokinetic Turbines<\/strong> in Canada. <strong>Hydrokinetic turbines<\/strong> convert the energy from moving water into electricity. Turbines can be installed to harness the energy from free-flowing canals and rivers. <strong>Hydrokinetic turbines<\/strong> are cost-effective methods of generating electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Sarawak, <strong>WEIDA<\/strong> hopes to capitalise on the abundance of water from rivers and streams in rural Sarawak and introduce the technology to generate electricity to power small rural communities, treatment plants, and agricultural schemes. Through this MoU, <strong>WEIDA<\/strong> and <strong>HSL<\/strong> will collaborate to implement a demonstration project using the <strong>HPG Evolution Turbines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2<sup>nd<\/sup> MOU<\/span><br><strong>HSL<\/strong> also developed the <strong>SunSpring water purification system<\/strong>, designed to treat raw water from various sources, such as river, well, or rainwater, to achieve drinking water quality. The standard treatment process comprises pre-filtration (reusable bag filters), advanced ceramic ultra-filtration (CUF), activated carbon filter (ACF), and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The modular system is energy-efficient and can be powered by solar panels and a portable battery, making it ideal for providing clean water in remote areas without reliable electricity from diesel generators or unstable grids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Sarawak, <strong>WEIDA<\/strong> hopes to introduce the <strong>SunSpring<\/strong> systems for upcoming <strong>SAWAS<\/strong> projects.
